Welcome!
Thank you for visiting my website!
I am a political journalist specializing in campaign, legislative and investigative reporting. My work in governmental reporting began at Michigan State University's student newspaper, The State News, where I wrote about the 2012 campaign trail, following area candidates and localizing national stories to a student audience. I covered national politics in Washington, D.C. in 2013, when I served as an intern for C-SPAN and later an editorial intern for The Houston Chronicle's Washington bureau, through the Washington Center for Politics and Journalism. Most recently I covered Detroit's ongoing bankruptcy proceedings for Reuters, attending federal court hearings and other related sessions. |
“Writers often don’t know much about the world they’re trying to describe, but they don’t necessarily need to. They just need to ask a lot of questions. And then they need to step back and let the story speak for itself.”
